Marketing in Your Comfort Zone

I hear all the time that people don’t feel comfortable with normal marketing, the trick is to just find what works for you.

There are a million success stories out there, claiming they grew their business to six figures because of one specific type of marketing–facebook ads, email chains, anything. And, by default, this course is a success story about how I marketed. But really, the only thing that is going to work for you and your business is the marketing that you’re comfortable with.

If you hate public speaking, public speaking will never be a good marketing strategy for you, no matter how well it worked for someone else. You’ll hate doing it, so you won’t try as hard. This is no shot at you as a person, it’s how we all are.

The “secret” to marketing, is to find what works for you.

If you love to write, then use email campaigns, blog posts, and social media to market your business. If you love to talk but don’t love crowds, try podcasting. If you love being on stage, try public speaking.

If you like the idea of any of those, but are nervous about starting, try building your confidence by beginning with people you’re already comfortable with.

Go down your contact list and reach out to people you know that could be gatekeepers, influencers, and prospective clients in your desired niche. They’ll be great practice for your marketing skills, and could actually lead to something!

Just remember to start small, and do what you’ll actually do.
